Good Everest Base Camp gift ideas start with the walk itself. Someone who trekked from Lukla to Base Camp remembers the stops by name: Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Gorak Shep. Our Everest Base Camp map print carries all eight stops with the altitude of each, from Lukla at 2,860 m to Base Camp at 5,364 m. Below is what the print shows, the two other Everest region routes we make, prices and delivery times.
What is a good gift for someone who trekked Everest Base Camp?
A map of the route they walked, with the places they slept in on it. Our Everest Base Camp print shows eight stops in walking order, each with its altitude: Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp. It starts at €29.95 for an unframed 30 x 40 cm print.
The skyline names four peaks they will have looked at for days: Everest at 8,849 m, Lhotse at 8,516 m, Cho Oyu at 8,188 m and Ama Dablam at 6,812 m. The print also has prayer flags, a monastery roofline that stands for Tengboche, a yak, and small tents at Base Camp. The full stop list, with the climb between each stop, is in our Everest Base Camp map guide.
Which Everest Base Camp poster should I choose, light or dark?
Choose the light or dark Everest Base Camp poster by the room it goes in. The light version uses cream, terracotta and gold and suits a bright wall. The dark version uses deep ink, cream and saffron, for an alpenglow-at-dusk look, and stands out on a pale wall. Both carry the same route, stops and peaks, in the same three sizes.
The light Everest Base Camp print and the dark Everest Base Camp print each come unframed, wood framed or as acrylic glass.
What if they trekked Gokyo or the Three Passes instead?
We make both. The Gokyo Lakes print runs from Lukla to Gokyo Ri at 5,357 m, about 95 km in 12 days, with Cho Oyu behind it. The Everest Three Passes print covers the 166 km, 20 day loop over Kongma La (5,535 m), Cho La (5,420 m) and Renjo La (5,360 m). Ask which way they went before you order.
The Three Passes loop shares Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche and Lobuche with the Base Camp route, and Gokyo with the lakes route, so someone who did the big loop has walked most of the other two. Its print is a tall elevation profile with three spikes, one for each pass. Our Three Passes trek map guide lists every stop.
What can I give with an Everest Base Camp map?
The best thing to give with an Everest Base Camp map is something only you know about their trek. Write the date they reached Base Camp on the back of the frame. Print one photo from their highest day to sit next to the map. For a second print, Sahasa, साहस, is a Sanskrit word print that means courage, from €29.95.
For more ideas beyond Everest, see our gifts for hikers guide. Ask them, before you buy, which day of the trek they talk about most. Often it is one stop: the morning in Namche Bazaar, the night at Gorak Shep at 5,164 m, the walk into Base Camp. Whatever they name is printed on the map, and you can mark it with them when they hang it.
Which size makes the best Everest Base Camp gift?
The best size for an Everest Base Camp gift depends on the wall. An unframed 30 x 40 cm print costs €29.95, 50 x 70 cm costs €36.95 and 70 x 100 cm costs €49.95. Wood framed, the same sizes cost €71.95, €147.95 and €220.95.
Acrylic glass starts at €95.95, and delivery within the EU is €5.95, free from €40. A framed 30 x 40 cm print is the easiest gift: it arrives framed and goes over a desk or a shelf. The large 70 x 100 cm unframed print, at €49.95, gets free delivery on its own.
When should I order an Everest Base Camp gift?
Order an Everest Base Camp gift at least two and a half weeks ahead. Each print is made to order. The product page shows the delivery window for your country. For Christmas, order by Friday 4 December. Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Denmark and Sweden have until Wednesday 9 December. To Cyprus, Malta and Ireland, order by Friday 27 November. After that, a gift card from €10 to €200 arrives straight away.
Questions

No. The map ends at Everest Base Camp, 5,364 m, its highest point. Kala Patthar, at 5,550 m, is not one of the stops.
Can I return the print if they already have one?
Yes. Standard prints can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and we cover the return shipping.
Do you deliver Everest Base Camp gifts outside the EU?
No. We deliver within the European Union only for now. A gift card can be sent to anyone.
