From a word or a route to your wall

Every design is original to Jhilke Studio. It is printed in the EU only after you order, then sent to you.

How a design is made

Every design goes through the same five steps before it reaches the shop.

  1. A word or a route

    A Nepali or Sanskrit word, a proverb or verse, or a trek route in Nepal.

  2. Its source

    Amrit, our founder, researches where each word or line comes from, and who wrote it when that is known. We build each trek route from published route data, most of it from OpenStreetMap.

  3. Designed and edited

    Jhilke Studio designs each print, and Amrit directs and edits the design.

  4. Language check

    Amrit is a native Nepali speaker. He checks every word, proverb and translation.

  5. Approved

    He approves every finished design before it goes on sale.

Changed your mind? You can cancel from your account within 60 minutes of ordering.

    Pick a print, a size and a finish.

  2. It goes to print

    Once your payment is confirmed, your order goes to our print partner in the EU.

  3. Printed for your order

    Your print is made in the size and finish you picked.

  4. Sent to you

    It is packed and shipped to you, and a tracking link comes by email.

The finishes

Each collection comes in three of these finishes. Prices are for the small size.

Each print has its own frame colour, and the photos on its page show the frame you get.

Three sizes

  • Small 40 × 30 cm4:316 × 12″. A desk, a shelf or a small wall
  • Medium 70 × 50 cm7:528 × 20″. Most walls
  • Large 100 × 70 cm10:740 × 28″. A wall on its own

The three sizes have different shapes. Choose a frame the same size as your print; frames in these sizes are easy to find.

What a trek map shows

  • Every stop in the order you walk it, with its altitude beside it
  • Heights are published figures for the stops and peaks
  • Each print credits its route data, for most routes to OpenStreetMap contributors
  • The line is drawn as a portrait of the walk, so don’t use it to find your way

  • 30 days to return it

    • You have the 14-day legal right to withdraw, no reason needed. We extend it to 30 days.
    • Returns are free: once your return is approved, we send you a prepaid label.
    • Within 14 days we also refund the standard delivery cost. From day 15 to 30, we refund the price of the print.
    • The two-year legal guarantee applies too.
