Every print comes in three finishes. Every collection has the Fine Art Matte Print (unframed) and the Wood-Framed Fine Art Print. The third depends on the collection:

• Trek Route Maps: Acrylic Glass Print.
• Ek Shabda (One Word), Amar Vani (Eternal Voice) and Boli (Voices of Home): Wood-Hanger Fine Art Print, which replaces acrylic.

The Fine Art Matte Print is on 200 gsm uncoated matte paper. gsm means grams per square metre, so a higher number is a thicker sheet. The Wood-Hanger finish uses the same paper.

• Fine Art Matte: unframed, for a frame of your own.
• Wood-Framed: arrives framed, with a clear plexiglass front and a hanging kit. Each print has its own frame colour, and the photos on its page show the frame you get.
• Acrylic Glass (trek maps): printed on 4 mm acrylic glass, hanging kit included.
• Wood-Hanger (word, verse and proverb prints): two wooden rails at the top and bottom, and it hangs from its cord, in place of a frame.

Not always. Screens, paper and ink behave differently, and the light in your room changes how a print looks, so the colours can differ a little from what you saw online. If a print is not right for you, you can return it within 30 days.

• Small: 30 × 40 cm (12 × 16 in)
• Medium: 50 × 70 cm (20 × 28 in)
• Large: 70 × 100 cm (28 × 40 in)

All three are portrait. Every print comes in all three sizes.

The three sizes have different shapes, so they are not simply bigger copies of one another. The sizing guide draws all three to scale next to a 170 cm person. A simple test: mark the print's outline on your wall with masking tape and live with it for a day.

The unframed print has the lowest price. You can hang it as it is, or put it in a frame you buy yourself. Our sizes are standard frame sizes: 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm (the landscape maps are the same sizes turned sideways). IKEA, JYSK and most frame shops sell these sizes. The 70 × 100 cm frame is the one to check first: IKEA has it, smaller shops not always. The wood-framed, acrylic, canvas and wood-hanger prints are the finished versions, ready to hang.

Many frames come with a mount already inside, which hides part of the print, and a frame's stated size describes the artwork it holds, so the frame is larger on the wall.

Shopify, which runs our store, takes your payment at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details. These are the payment methods the shop accepts.

Prices are in euros and include any VAT that applies. Delivery is shown separately at checkout, and the exact cost is always shown before you pay.

You can cancel from your account within 60 minutes of placing your order.

The address you give at checkout is final. If it is wrong, cancel the order within those 60 minutes and place a new one with the right address.

After 60 minutes you can no longer cancel from your account, but the 30-day return still applies.

Not at the moment. Every print is sold as designed: we do not add names, dates, messages or custom text, and we do not make custom words to order. If there is a word or a trek route you would like to see in the shop, tell us through the contact page.

Yes, in amounts of €10, €25, €50, €100 and €200. We email the card to the person you choose, with your message, now or on a date you pick. They enter the code at checkout on any print, or add it to their account as store credit. It does not expire.

You can ask. Write to us through the contact page, choose Bulk / wholesale and tell us what you need.

At the moment we ship within the European Union. Every print is made inside the EU and sent from there, so no customs duties apply.

Orders of €40 or more ship free. Below €40, shipping is a flat €5,95 anywhere in the EU, whatever the size or weight. The exact cost shows before you pay.

Every print is made to order. Most orders arrive within 10 working days. A few places take longer: up to 15 working days to Cyprus, Malta and Ireland. Your product page shows the expected dates for your country, updated every night. In busy periods such as December it can take longer, and we tell you if so. A tracking link comes by email when your order ships.

Unframed prints ship in a flat or triangular box. Framed, acrylic and wood-hanger prints arrive flat, pre-assembled and ready to hang.

Yes. You can return a print within 30 days of delivery, and you do not need to give a reason. EU law gives you 14 days; we extend it to 30. Returns are free: once we approve your return, we send you a prepaid label.

Sign in to your account, open the Returns tab and follow the steps. If you ordered as a guest, create an account with the same email address as your order. You can also email support@jhilkestudio.com with your order number. Please contact us before you post anything back: prints are made at different sites, so the return address depends on the item.

• Within 14 days of delivery: the price of the print and the standard delivery cost you paid.
• From day 15 to day 30: the price of the print. The delivery cost is not refunded.
• The refund goes to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the print back, or sooner.

The print should be unused and undamaged.

Email support@jhilkestudio.com with your order number and photos of the damage, within 30 days of delivery. We send a free replacement or give you a full refund, and we cover any return shipping. You never deal with the carrier. The two-year EU legal guarantee applies as well.

Yes. Every design is original to Jhilke Studio. We pick each route or word, research its source, direct and edit the design, and approve every finished print before it goes on sale. Trek routes are built from published route data, most of it from OpenStreetMap, and each print credits its source. Word prints are our own typographic designs of real Nepali and Sanskrit words, proverbs and verses.

Each route shows its real stops in the order you walk them, with the altitude beside each stop. Heights are published figures. The line itself is drawn as a portrait of the walk, so use the print as a keepsake and not to find your way.

We research where each word or line comes from, and we check every word, proverb and translation before a print goes on sale. The check is done by a native Nepali speaker.

• Devanagari is the script used to write Nepali and Sanskrit.
• Ek Shabda means One Word: one Devanagari word per print.
• Amar Vani means Eternal Voice: Sanskrit lines and verses.
• Boli means Voices of Home: Nepali proverbs and lines.

Most word prints show the English meaning in small type, so you do not need to read Nepali. Each print's page says exactly what is printed on it.

Amrit, who grew up in Baglung in western Nepal and now lives in Europe. He started Jhilke Studio in 2026 because he could not find Nepali art and design to buy in Europe.

Jhilke (झिल्के) is Nepali for a glint or sparkle. Our idea is a glint of Nepal.

Not yet. They are treks we have always wanted to do, and we mean to walk them. Until then each map is built from published route data and credited on the print.

No. Nothing is printed before someone orders it. Our print partner makes each order inside the EU, so there is no unsold stock and nothing ships from overseas.
