A Naksha map gift is a print of Nepal built from public data. Naksha (नक्सा) is the Nepali word for map, and our collection has six designs: contour lines, rivers, a climb to Everest, the eight highest peaks, three height belts and the lights of the country at night. Below is who each one suits.
Which Naksha maps can I give?
There are six Naksha designs, and each is a print you can send as a gift, from €29.95 unframed. Every design has a Nepali title under its English name. Five are wider than tall. Eight Peaks is taller than wide. Our six maps of Nepal guide shows what each one draws.
- Nepal (नेपाल, the name of the country): contour lines for the whole country. From €29.95.
- Rivers (नदीहरू, rivers): 18,516 stretches of river. From €29.95.
- The Climb (उकालो, a climb): one line from the plains to Everest. From €29.95.
- Eight Peaks (आठ शिखर, eight peaks): the eight main peaks over 8,000 m. From €29.95.
- Terai, Pahad, Himal (तराई · पहाड · हिमाल, the low plains, the hills and the high mountains): Nepal by height. From €29.95.
- Nepal at Night (रातको नेपाल, Nepal at night): city lights from orbit. From €29.95.
Which Naksha map is the best gift for someone who loves mountains?
Give The Climb or Eight Peaks. The Climb is one slice of Nepal from south to north along 86.93° E, from the Terai plains to Everest's 8,848.86 m in 165.1 km. Eight Peaks draws the eight main peaks over 8,000 m within Nepal as small contour maps, each with its name and height.

If they walked one particular route, a trek map of that route may suit them better. Our gifts for hikers guide has all ten routes and the Christmas order-by date.
Which Naksha map suits someone who loves maps and data?
Give Nepal or Terai, Pahad, Himal. Nepal draws a contour line every 250 m from NASA elevation data, inside the country's official 2020 border. Terai, Pahad, Himal sorts the land into three belts: the Terai under 610 m, the Pahad from 610 to 4,877 m and the Himal above 4,877 m, which are 24.9%, 64.2% and 10.9% of the land.

Both print their data sources at the foot, so the person who loves maps can read where each line comes from.
Which Naksha map is a gift for a nature lover?
Give Rivers. It draws 18,516 stretches of river, from the Himalaya to the plains, and the larger the river, the thicker the line. The data comes from the HydroRIVERS database (Lehner and Grill, 2013), cut to Nepal's 2020 border. It suits someone who likes water, valleys and the outdoors.

Which Naksha map is a gift for someone who likes the view from space?
Give Nepal at Night. Each of its 10,588 dots is one lit cell of about 500 m in a NASA satellite image of night lights from 2016. Cells below a set brightness are left out, so the dots gather where the towns are.

Which colour and format should I choose?
Pick Ink, a deep dark base with cream type and gold, or Paper, a cream base with ink type, gold and terracotta. Nepal also comes in Terracotta, and Nepal at Night comes in Ink only. Then pick a poster, a wood-framed print or a canvas. Unframed posters start at €29.95 and need a frame of your own.
- Poster, unframed: €29.95 (30 x 40 cm), €36.95 (50 x 70 cm), €49.95 (70 x 100 cm).
- Wood-framed print: €71.95, €147.95, €220.95. The frame colour is shown on each product page.
- Canvas: €74.95, €132.95, €165.95.
Our sizing guide shows each size to scale. A wider-than-tall map shows its sizes the other way round on the product page, for example 40 x 30 cm. We read these prices in our shop on 24 October 2026.
How long does a Naksha gift take to arrive?
Every print is made to order in Europe. Most orders arrive within 10 working days, and up to 15 working days to Cyprus, Malta and Ireland. December can be slower, and we tell you if it is. Shipping is €5.95 on orders under €40 and free from €40, and you get a tracking link by email.
If you cannot choose a map, a gift card lets them pick one. It comes in amounts from €10 to €200 and is emailed, now or on a date you choose. More ideas by occasion are on our gifting page.
Why did we make maps of Nepal?
To us, Naksha is a map of Nepal and its different regions. Each print is an original design by Jhilke Studio, built from published data, with the sources printed at the foot. The Nepali title on each one is explained above. You can see all six together in the Naksha collection.
Questions
Can I use a Naksha print to navigate?
No. They are wall prints that show data about Nepal, not trail maps. For a route with stops and altitudes, see our trek maps.
Can I return a Naksha print if it is not right?
Yes. You can return a print within 30 days of delivery without giving a reason, and returns are free. Once we approve the return, we send a prepaid label.
Does a Naksha print arrive ready to hang?
The wood-framed print and the canvas do. The unframed poster needs a frame of your own, and our sizes are standard frame sizes: 30 x 40, 50 x 70 and 70 x 100 cm.
Do you deliver Naksha gifts outside the EU?
No. We deliver within the European Union only for now. A gift card can go to anyone.
