These Sanskrit quotes with meaning are the twelve lines on our Amar Vani (Eternal Voice) prints. Each one is below in Devanagari with its transliteration and the English meaning as printed. The first section explains what Bhagavad Gita 2.47 means.
What does Bhagavad Gita 2.47 mean?
"2.47" means chapter 2, verse 47 of the Bhagavad Gita. The first line, कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन (Karmanye Vadhikaraste), is printed with the meaning "You have the right to act, never to the fruits of your action." We print that line on one print and the full two line couplet on another.
The full couplet on its print reads:
- कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
- English as printed: "You have a right to your actions, never to the fruits they produce. Let neither the fruits be your motive, nor attachment to inaction."
The two prints carry their own English wording, so the lines differ a little. Both are in the Amar Vani collection: the Karmanye Vadhikaraste print and the Gita 2.47 full couplet print.
Which Sanskrit quotes with meaning are on our prints?
Twelve lines, each with its transliteration and the meaning as printed under the Devanagari. Three carry a citation: the Karmanye line and the full couplet as Bhagavad Gita 2.47, and Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam as Bhagavad Gita. The others have no citation on the print.

All twelve are in the Amar Vani collection.
What are Sanskrit quotes on karma?
Three Sanskrit quotes on our prints are about action, or karma. Karmanye Vadhikaraste is Bhagavad Gita 2.47. Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam says "Yoga is skill in action." Udyamena Hi Sidhyanti says "Tasks are accomplished through effort, not by wishing."
If you want a single word instead of a line, our post on Nepali and Sanskrit wall art covers कर्म (karma), printed as "action, and what follows from it".
What are Sanskrit quotes on life?
Four lines in the collection speak to how to live, going by their printed meanings: Mauna Sarvartha Sadhanam, "Silence is an instrument that achieves all ends"; Na Kashchit Shashwatam, "Nothing is permanent"; Satyameva Jayate, "Truth alone triumphs"; and Ma Kadapi Tyaja, "Never give up."
What are Sanskrit quotes on education?
One line in the collection is about knowledge: विद्या ददाति विनयम् (Vidya Dadati Vinayam), printed as "Knowledge gives humility." A second, Udyamena Hi Sidhyanti, speaks of effort: "Tasks are accomplished through effort, not by wishing."
Both are among the twelve in the Amar Vani collection, in the same format as the others, with the Devanagari large and the English meaning small underneath.
Are there Bhagavad Gita quotes for wall art?
Yes, three of our prints carry a Bhagavad Gita citation. Two are Gita 2.47: the first line alone, and the full couplet. The third is योगः कर्मसु कौशलम् (Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam), "Yoga is skill in action", cited as Bhagavad Gita without a verse number.
All three come unframed at €29.95 for 30 x 40 cm, on a wood hanger from €56.95, or wood framed at €71.95. Sizes are 30 x 40, 50 x 70 and 70 x 100 cm.
Which Sanskrit quotes suit the home, for peace and family?
Two lines are about the people under one roof and beyond it. वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) is printed as "The whole world is one family." Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah is "May all beings be happy, may all beings be free from illness."
We wrote about the first in our post on Dashain away from home, and the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam print is in the collection. Delivery within the EU is €5.95, free from €40.
